Violin and Viola Concert by Alice Julien-Laferrière and Mathilde Viale
Mathilde Vialle and Alice Julien-Laferrière met in 2007 while studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon. Since then, they have played together continuously in various ensembles. Both curious to discover new repertoires and enjoying playing together, they formed a duo: the violin and viola offer infinite possibilities that they are eager to share and introduce.
The pieces for violin and viola included in a manuscript from the Wolfenbüttel library, the Ludwig Partiturbuch, were the starting point for their duo work. This was expanded by transcription and adaptation work, carried out over several years, leading them to record their first album, Froberger en tête à tête, presenting an original aspect of the work of this essential 17th-century German composer. Supported since their debut by the Petit Festival de Musique en Trégor, they recorded their first album in 2016 for the Son an ero label.
Their second album, Louis Couperin en tête à tête, released in March 2020 by éditions Seulétoile, won a golden tuning fork.

The Duo has performed at the Bach Academy in Arques la Bataille, at the Cité de la Voix, at the festivals of the Pays du Mont Blanc, the Baroque Festivals in the Graves region, Music and Memory, Baroque Itinerary in the Green Périgord, Musical Promenades in the Pays d'Auge, the Méridiennes, Les Concerts d'Anacreon, the Tarentaise Baroque Festival, Passe ton Bach d'abord in Toulouse, and also at the Radio France Montpellier festival, at Royaumont Abbey, in Poland, Switzerland, Germany and London.
The Duo Coloquintes occasionally teams up with harpsichordists such as Jean-Marc Aymes and Hadrien Jourdan in crossover programs.
