Flute and harpsichord concert with Christian Plouvier and Luc Vanvaerenbergh
Born in Antwerp, Christian Plouvier began studying music at the age of 10 as a hobby and immediately fell in love with the flute. Graduating at 19 from the Royal Conservatory of Music in Antwerp (Music Theory, Flute, Chamber Music, Piano and Conducting), he became a student of Alain Marion and Jean-Pierre Rampal, following the tradition of the great French flute school. Christian began playing as a freelance flautist in several orchestras and became a professor at the Academy of Music in his hometown. His solo career then expanded, from classical to contemporary music.
He has recorded 4 CDs in Japan and Turkey. He is always keen to diversify his musical experiences, alternating Piazzolla with Schubert and Mozart with Takemitsu in an imaginative way. His repertoire is very eclectic, playing with various instruments: piano, harp, harpsichord, guitar, Pipa, Guzheng or Koto. He has been a Miyazawa Artist for 30 years.

Luc Vanvaerenbergh studied at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where he obtained advanced diplomas in the following disciplines: harpsichord, chamber music, harmony, counterpoint and fugue. Until 1994 he was responsible for the conservation and maintenance of historical keyboard instruments in the collection of the Vleeshuis Museum in Antwerp.
In the same year, he was appointed Director of the Antwerp Academy and lecturer in harpsichord at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp. As a soloist, he performed in Belgium, France, Germany, Spain, Hungary, Brazil and the Netherlands.
